FOOD SCIENCE & NUTRITION

It trains students to be Food Scientists and Nutritionists.

The courses equip students to fulfil multifarious roles of Nutritionist/ Dietitian/ Scientist/ Academicians or for Community and Public Nutrition.

The Department collaborates with professional organization like AFST, IDA, BARC, various hospitals and consulting physicians.

COURSES & ELIGIBILITY :

You have to be a "GRADUATE" to enter into the Dept. Being a Women's University we admit only "Women"

MASTERS' & POST-MASTERS' DEGREE COURSES

Name of the Course	Eligibility Criteria
Masters' with specialization in Food Science and Nutrition / Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics.	Average 'B' grade or equivalent marks (55%) in the Bachelor's degree with specialization in in Food Science and Nutrition / Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics / Food Science & Quality Control. In special cases, graduates from allied fields such as Biochemistry, Medicine , may be considered provided they fulfill necessary pre-requisites
M.PHIL with specialization in Food Science and Nutrition	Master's degree in Food Science and Nutrition with second class or B grade. Preference given to those in teaching profession.
PH.D in in Food Science and Nutrition	Master's degree in Food Science and Nutrition or a related discipline from a recognized University

POST GRADUATE DIPLOMAS

Dietetics	Graduates with Foods and Nutrition, Food Microbiology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences / M.B.B.S. / B.A.M.S.
Nutrition and Food Technology	Graduates with Foods and Nutrition / Science.
Sports Science and Nutrition	Graduates with Foods and Nutrition / Science.
Food Service Management	Graduates in Home Science

CERTIFICATE COURSES

Diabetes Care & Education	Graduates with Foods and Nutrition/ M.B.B.S. / Dietetics / Physiotherapy.
